Plans to ease working from home criticised from many sides

Companies, state authorities and unions have criticised new rules for working from home included in a planned amendment to the Czech labour law, Czech Television reported. Under the legislation drafted by the Ministry of Labour, employers will have to allow some groups, such as parents of children under 15, to work remotely if they wish.

Workers would also receive a flat-rate contribution for the costs of working at home.

However, opponents say the planned changes are overly bureaucratic and difficult to administer.

The ministries of finance and justice have also questioned aspects of the draft amendment in an inter-ministerial comments procedure.
