Plane ticket sales in CR now rising by around one-fifth a week

Air ticket sales in the Czech Republic are currently rising by around 20 percent a week after collapsing due to the coronavirus situation, the Czech News Agency reported. Sellers say the current development corresponds to the most optimistic scenario they had envisaged.

Overall sales are currently at about half the level recorded at the same time last year, the Czech News Agency said.

The most in-demand flights are to Spain, Italy and Greece, according to data from booking company Kiwi.com. The Letuška.cz se website has sold most tickets to Split in Croatia.

Average fares have declined due to increased demand for flights to European destinations. In the middle of the month Letuška.cz’s average ticket price was CZK 6,250, a year-on-year fall of CZK 3,000.
