Plaga: Tutoring programmes will help smooth out learning divide

The divide in education, caused by the introduction of distance learning during the coronavirus epidemic, will be smoothed out through a tutoring plan within the next two to three years, Education Minister Robert Plaga said on Wednesday. He expects the plan to be published within a week.

The ministry is preparing a strategy which will include summer tutoring camps and further education activities in schools and informal education clubs to offset the possible inequalities in education that may have resulted from children having to be taught from their homes.

Mr. Plaga hopes to fund the plan from both the national budget and EU subsidies.
