Plaga to lead Mendel University after new rector withdraws

A former minister of education, Robert Plaga, will head Brno’s Mendel University until a new rector is selected, the Ministry of Education said. Vojtěch Adam had been due to take up the post on Tuesday but withdrew after questions were raised about the use of data in some academic papers he published.

The minister of education, Petr Gazdík, said he had opted for Mr. Plaga as he had studied and taught at Mendel University.
