Pirate Party online vote sanctions decision to leave the government
Members of the Pirate Party have approved the party's withdrawal from the ruling coalition with the Together (SPOLU) coalition parties and the Mayors and Independents in an online vote. Altogether 709 out of 894 participants in the online vote were in favor of leaving the cabinet, the party said in a press release. The party is quitting the government in response to Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s decision to dismiss party leader Ivan Bartoš from his posts as deputy prime minister for digitalization and minister for regional development. The party will leave the ruling coalition on Tuesday. Its two other ministers in the cabinet - Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský and Minister for Legislation Michal Šalomoun - will submit their resignations to the prime minister without delay.
