Pirate Kolářík stands down after allegations of violence against assistant

Former Pirate Party MP Lukáš Kolářík has stood down from all party posts following a call from the grouping’s leadership, which issued a statement to that effect on Monday. Mr. Kolářík resigned as deputy minister of the interior in the middle of July.

There have been reports that a month earlier he had a physical altercation with his female assistant, with whom he was having an extra-marital affair. The assistant said in the media that Mr. Kolářík had choked and kicked her.

The police are investigating the matter.
