Physicist Radomír Pánek to head Czech Academy of Sciences
Physicist Radomír Pánek has been elected the new President of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. He received an overwhelming majority of votes from the assembly, 128 out of 242 ballots. Pánek is due to take office in March 2025 and will lead the academy until 2029, replacing Eva Zažímalová, whose second term is due to expire next year.
