Pensions to rise in June due to inflation
The average monthly pension will increase by eight hundred to a thousand crowns from June, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka told Czech Television. The exact amount will be decided by the pace of inflation. In line with Czech law, the government is bound to increase pensions if inflation exceeds five percent. Inflation is currently at over 6 percent and the central bank predicts that it will reach 9 percent in the first quarter before gradually starting to decline.
