Pensions to go up in June in response to high inflation

State pensions will be increased in June in view of the high rate of inflation, the Czech government announced on Wednesday. Old-age and widows and widowers pensions, as well as benefits for the handicapped will go up by 8.2 percent, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs said on Twitter.

Some 2.86 million people were on these kinds of state support at the close of last year.

The Czech inflation rate reached 9.9 percent in January.
