Pavel Černoch: Smetana’s arias, global voice
From the stages of Brno to the world’s leading opera houses, tenor Pavel Černoch continues to expand his impressive career — most recently with the release of his first solo album, Smetana Arias, recorded with the Czech Philharmonic.
Czech tenor Pavel Černoch is one of the most sought-after tenors of his generation. Having graduated in music management from the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno, he has been aware of his fondness for music since childhood. He then studied opera singing privately in Florence with maestro Paolo De Napoli, who has remained his mentor until today. The first time he went on stage was in his native Brno at the Janáček Opera, where he sang in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Then came his first engagements in opera houses in Vienna, Graz, Seville, Warsaw and Prague.
The repertoire of operas in which he sings is very rich – from Alfredo in Verdi’s La traviata or Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly to Don José in Bizet’s Carmen. He regularly performs on concert stages around the world, where he is invited by renowned orchestras and festivals.
In 2024 he released his first solo CD, Smetana Arias, for which he chose Bedřich Smetana’s arias and duets that he recorded with the Czech Philharmonic.
