Over two thirds of Ukrainian refugees in Czechia living below poverty line
Seven out of ten Ukrainian refugees in Czechia live below the income poverty line, according to a study by PAQ research published on Wednesday. Households with children were found to be most at risk.
While two-thirds of refugees over the age of 17 have jobs, most are working in jobs that they are over-qualified for, often in precarious conditions. The main barriers to them getting better jobs, the study found, are insufficient knowledge of the Czech language and the unavailability of preschool care for children.
