Over 70,000 people download app for electronic ID card

More than 70,000 people downloaded the eDoklady application, to create an electronic ID card on their mobile phone, on the first day that the app went into operation, according to the Digital Information Agency. Many of those who tried to download experienced problems due to server overload. The application can be downloaded from the official Google Play and App Stores. As of January 20, 2024, the electronic ID card should be accepted by all state administration bodies and some municipalities. The plastic cards will remain as an alternative option even after the digital app is accepted across the board.
