Over 5,000 skiers attend opening of Špindlerův Mlýn ski center
Around 5,500 skiers visited the Špindlerův Mlýn ski center in the Krkonoš Mountains from Friday to Sunday, marking the opening of one of the country's most popular ski resorts. About 2,000 people also participated in the accompanying program at Svatý Petr.
Thanks to recent snowfall, four lifts are now in operation in Špindlerův Mlýn and 15 kilometers of slopes are open for skiing. Another ski resort in Krkonoše, Černá hora – Pec, currently offers nearly 10 kilometers of slopes and seven kilometers of cross-country trails.
Despite rainy weather on Saturday, other resorts, including Malá Úpa in Krkonoš and Říčky in the Orlické Mountains, also opened their seasons over the weekend.
