Outgoing director of the Lány Forest Administration appeals mismanagement verdict

The outgoing director of the Lány Forest Administration, Miloš Balák, has appealed a court verdict which found him guilty of mismanagement. According to the verdict, Balák knowingly signed an unfavourable contract under which he sold stone mined in the Lany area at a price significantly cheaper than its market price. The court fined him 870,000 crowns and imposed a two-year ban on his activities in organisations managing state property. Balák, who is retiring as director of the Lany Forest Administration at the end of the year, claims he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
