Olympic champion Ledecká named Sportsperson of Year

Ester Ledecká has been named Czech Sportsperson of the Year for the second time in her career. Ledecká took gold in snowboarding’s parallel giant slalom at the Winter Olympics in Beijing in February.

In a poll of over 200 journalists the 27-year-old finished ahead of tennis doubles pair Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in second place and ice hockey star David Pastrňák in third.

Ester Ledecká was also crowned Sportsperson of the Year in 2018, when she won an unprecedented double of snowboard and skiing Olympic gold medals.
