Number of small aircraft accidents increased last year
The number of aviation accidents in Czechia increased by more than ten percent last year to 81, according to data published by the Institute for the Investigation of Aviation Accidents. The number of reported incidents increased by 17 percent to 946.
All of the accidents involved small aircraft used for sport or recreational purposes. Ten people lost their lives in the crashes, which is four more than in 2020.
The institute says that despite the increase, the number of incidents was still lower than in the pre-Covid period.
