Number of newly detected Covid cases surpass 100 for second day in a row

The number of COVID 19 cases registered in the Czech Republic on Friday reached 126, which is the highest number since April 21.

In the past two weeks the number of new cases registered daily has remained below 50.

The number of cases detected since the start of the epidemic is 10,406. 335 people have died of the infection or related complications, and 7,473 have recovered. Currently over 2,500 people are fighting the disease.

According to Health Minister Adam Vojtěch, the surge in new cases is caused by localised outbreaks in Prague and in the Karviná and Frýdek-Místek regions in Moravia-Silesia.
