Number of Covid deaths in CR passes 24,000

The number of recorded Covid deaths in the Czech Republic has now exceeded the 24,000-mark. According to Ministry of Health data, 24,117 people have now died with the virus.

On Wednesday there were 8,910 Covid patients in Czech hospitals, with just under 2,000 of them in a critical condition.

Almost 12,000 new cases of the virus were registered on Wednesday, which was roughly 2,600 fewer than the same day last week.
