Number of cases of second Covid infection shooting up
The number of people known to have contracted Covid-19 more than once in the Czech Republic now stands at 1,400, according to data from the National Institute of Public Health. Recorded reinfections have shot up recently – a month ago there were less than 200 known cases. The National Institute of Public Health says these figures are linked to a high number of infections in the Covid surge that hit the country in the autumn.
To date there have been over 1.2 million known coronavirus infections in the Czech Republic. Officials say the actual figure could be considerably higher.
