The number of asylum-seekers in the Czech Republic is on the rise, the Czech Interior Minister Stanislav Gross revealed on Tuesday. Over the past five months, the number has risen to almost four times the figure in the same period of last year. Alena Skodova has more.

Minister Gross told journalists that centres for asylum seekers are not prepared for such big numbers, and the situation is reaching crisis-point. I spoke with the director of the Organization for Aid to Refugees, Pavel Tychtl, and asked him why he thought there were so many asylum seekers in the Czech Republic?
