NUDZ scientists' project to help diagnose schizophrenia and predict the condition
Scientists at the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ) are developing a new project aimed at improving the diagnosis of schizophrenia and predicting potential deterioration of the condition through the use of digital technology to analyze pupil changes. Scheduled to launch early next year, the project will also incorporate blood sample analysis to identify brain changes. Currently, there are no laboratory or imaging methods available to diagnose schizophrenia, NUDZ spokesman Jan Červenka told the Czech News Agency.
The project seeks to deepen understanding of the causes of schizophrenia and establish a platform for computer-assisted diagnosis. It also aims to develop a method to prevent relapse in patients.
