Nearly 1,000 people run through Prague in support of public service media
Nearly 1,000 people took part in a run through central Prague on Saturday in support of Czech public service broadcaster Czech Radio and Czech Television. Organised by the Post Bellum association, the 4.36-kilometre route led from Letná Plain to the Czech Radio headquarters on Vinohradská Street.
The event was organised in protest against government plans to move public service media funding from licence fees to the state budget. Participants carried messages of support for independent media, with organisers saying they wanted to preserve the current funding system.
