National Theatre unions call for culture minister’s resignation

National Theatre actors have called for the resignation of Culture Minister Oto Klempíř. Speaking at the demonstration in support of public-service media in Prague, they also demanded the withdrawal of the bill changing the funding of Czech Television and Czech Radio  as well as the government's new draft cultural policy.

In a statement, the National Theatre unions expressed concern over current political developments and voiced solidarity with public-service media employees defending their professional independence, freedom of artistic expression and responsibility to the public.
