Govt approves pay transparency, platform work bills

The Czech government on Monday approved an amendment to the Labour Code introducing EU pay transparency rules and a bill regulating platform work.

Under the new pay rules, unjustified gender pay gaps of five percent or more will have to be corrected within six months. Job applicants will also have to be informed about pay and bonuses before signing a contract.

The platform work bill will allow workers to be classified as employees if their work meets employment criteria. It also tightens rules on illegal work and requires human oversight of algorithms.
