Finance minister debating budget allocations for 2027 with cabinet ministers

Finance Minister Alena Schillerová (ANO) is holding one-on-one talks with individual ministers to discuss their ministries’ budget allocations for next year. After Monday’s cabinet meeting, Schillerová said she had an overview of the individual ministries’ demands and would discuss both spending and possible savings with them.

The Finance Ministry must submit the draft budget to the government by the end of September. Schillerová has not yet specified the expected deficit.

She previously discussed the budget with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), with the two agreeing that investment in transport infrastructure and healthcare should be the main priorities.
