Average rents increased, but became cheaper in most regional capitals

Average rents in the Czech Republic increased by 1.2% in the second quarter compared with the first three months of the year, reaching CZK 343 per square meter. However, rents rose significantly in only three regional capitals: Pardubice, Ostrava, and Olomouc. In the Central Bohemian Region, rents remained unchanged, while rents fell in the other major cities.

This is according to the Rent Index published by Deloitte, a consulting and technology company. According to the index, rents in the Czech Republic have more than doubled since 2014.

In Prague, where housing is traditionally the most expensive, rents fell by just under 1% after several quarters of increases, reaching CZK 462 per square meter. However, trends varied across different parts of the capital.
