Milan Knížák to get funeral with state honours

The artist, musician and teacher Milan Knížák, who died on Sunday at the age of 86, is to get a funeral with state honours, following a decision of the Czech government. His family agreed to the proposal for a funeral with state honours, which is accompanied by fewer formalities than a full state funeral.

The arts minister, Oto Klempíř, said Mr. Knížák had shaped Czech art, culture and several generations of artists.

He was a member of the Fluxus international art movement and his works are held by such institutions as MoMA and the Centre Pompidou.
