Czech arrested in China over “endangering state security”

Chinese officials says a Czech citizen detained in China is suspected of endangering state security, the Reuters news agency reported. The Czech news outlet Seznam Zprávy said on Wednesday that the Czech, who works in the business sector, was arrested late last month.

Seznam Zprávy said the Czech security services believe China might seek to exchange the man for Yang Yi-min, a Chinese propagandist in custody in Czechia on spying charges.

The Czech man works with Eldis, a company that is part of the Czech arms giant CSG, Deník N reported.
