Czech firms could reclaim $650 million in U.S. tariffs

Czech companies could recover approximately $650 million (around CZK 14 billion) in U.S. tariffs they previously paid under reciprocal duties introduced by President Donald Trump last year.

The U.S. Supreme Court overturned the tariffs in February, meaning the U.S. administration must refund the payments to companies that file claims.

The estimate was provided by Pavel Eichner, director of CzechTrade's regional office in Chicago. He said the figure represents the maximum potential refund based on calculations of individual tariff payments, adding that most eligible companies are seeking reimbursement now that the court has confirmed the ruling.
