New registration system for dog owners starts in Czechia

Dog owners in Czechia have to register their dog in a central records system under new rules that came into effect on Wednesday. It is not necessary to take this step immediately; it is sufficient to register the animal during a routine visit to the vet, but no later than at its next rabies vaccination.

Individual veterinary clinics set their own registration fee. Breeders must microchip puppies and have them entered in the dog registry before handing them over to a new owner.
