Muchová wins Bad Homburg title ahead of Wimbledon
Karolína Muchová won the WTA title in Bad Homburg, Germany, on Saturday after former world number one Naomi Osaka retired through illness early in the second set of the final. The Czech had dominated the opening set 6–1 and was leading 1–0 in the second when the match ended.
The 28-year-old reached the final without dropping a set and continued her impressive form on grass. The title is the third WTA singles crown of her career and gives her a timely confidence boost ahead of Wimbledon, which begins on Monday.
