New organ at St. Vitus Cathedral to be blessed at special mass

A blessing ceremony for the new organ at St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle will take place on Monday at 5 p.m. as part of a church service featuring Antonín Dvořák’s Lužany Mass.

The organ was built by renowned Spanish master organ builder Gerhard Grenzing. The blessing ceremony will be followed by a series of six concerts, culminating in a televised gala concert from the cathedral on June 21.

More than 135 million crowns were raised for the new organ through a nationwide public fundraising campaign involving thousands of donors.
