President Pavel to open Globsec, European Parliament president among speakers

The international security conference Globsec Forum will begin today in Prague, with President Petr Pavel opening the three-day programme. Organisers expect the participation of more than 2,000 guests from 86 countries, which is the highest number so far. Moldovan President Maia Sandu and President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola will also speak at the event today. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha is also expected to arrive in Czechia for the conference this week.

According to the organisers, the programme will focus on the global systemic transformation that is fundamentally changing the international order, technology, defence and energy. Among the topics of more than 50 panel discussions are European defence and Ukraine, as well as the Middle East region.
