E.ON distributor challenges Czech Energy Regulator over electricity prices

EG.D, the distribution company of the E.ON Group, has filed a lawsuit against the Czech Energy Regulatory Office over what it describes as an unfavourable setting of regulated electricity prices.

According to the news website Ekonomický deník, customers in South Bohemia and the southern half of Moravia could face higher electricity prices if the distributor succeeds in court.

The Energy Regulatory Office said it is confident it will succeed in defending its policy.  A spokesperson noted that the country’s other distributors — ČEZ Distribuce and PREdistribuce — did not challenge the regulated pricing framework for this year.
