Prague’s Book World festival opens its 31st edition
The 31st edition of the international book fair and literary festival Book World Prague begins today at the Prague Exhibition Grounds and will run until 17 May. This year introduces a new concept of a featured thematic country, with Romania presenting itself as the future guest of honour for next year’s festival.
Among the guests will be Nobel Prize winner Abdulrazak Gurnah, French-Algerian writer Boualem Sansal, who was until recently imprisoned, and American historian Timothy Snyder.
The festival will feature 808 participants, 560 programmes and eight exhibitions. Organisers expect around 400 exhibitors.
