Actor Ondřej Vetchý receives 2025 Arnošt Lustig Award

Czech actor Ondřej Vetchý has been awarded the 2025 Arnošt Lustig Award, which recognizes courage, humanity, and a commitment to justice. The selection committee cited his long-term civic engagement, defense of democratic values, and personal responsibility for the state of society.

In addition to his artistic career, Vetchý has been active in public life, notably supporting Ukraine and contributing to charitable initiatives. He is the 14th recipient of the award. The first laureate was Václav Malý, a signatory of Charter 77 and later a co-founder and spokesperson of the Civic Forum.
