President to make first address to MPs in current legislative term
Czech President Petr Pavel is set to make his first address to the lower house in the current legislative period on Tuesday afternoon. The coalition government are planning to debate a Senate constitutional amendment on the Supreme Audit Office’s power to audit the finances of Czech Television and Czech Radio; the government plan to bring the public media houses under the state budget and end the license fee.
Other bills on the agenda in the first reading include Prime Minister Andrej Babiš's proposal to introduce a “Czech Flag Day”.
Mr. Pavel said he wanted to get to know the recently constituted Chamber of Deputies.
