Czech minister makes complicated journey back from Dubai

The Czech minister of sport, Boris Šťastný, had to make a complicated journey back to Prague from Dubai after conflict broke out in the Middle East, the minister of foreign affairs, Petr Macinka, told journalists.

The news site Novinky.cz quoted Mr. Macinka as saying his Motorists party colleague’s journey to Czechia had taken him through Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Italy.

He said Mr. Šťastný had gone to the region despite Ministry of Foreign Affairs' recommendations that Czechs avoid travelling there. For his part, the minister for sport said no warning had been issued in connection with the United Arab Emirates last week.
