Babiš places Agrofert shares in trust fund, says conflict of interest resolved

Czech Prime Minister and ANO leader Andrej Babiš said on Friday evening he had placed all his Agrofert holding shares into the private RSVP Trust fund.

Writing on social network X, he said the move followed approvals from regulators in three EU states and means he has met legal requirements on conflicts of interest. Babiš added he has no influence over Agrofert and does not benefit from the company.

The transfer comes more than two months after his appointment as prime minister in December.

However, opposition leaders say the conflict of interest issue is not resolved, citing unanswered questions about companies outside the Agrofert group and the unpublished statute of the trust fund.
