Canada beat Czechia 4–3 in Olympic quarter-final
The Czech Republic were beaten 4–3 by Canada in the ice hockey quarter-finals at the Winter Olympics in Milan. The winning goal came in overtime at 61:22, when Canadian forward Mitch Marner struck to seal victory for the tournament favourites.
During the exciting match, the Czech team took the lead against Canada twice. However, their opponents equalised in the 57th minute to force extra time and the decisive goal followed soon after.
The Czech goals were scored by Lukáš Sedlák, David Pastrňák and Ondřej Palát. Goaltender Lukáš Dostál delivered an outstanding performance but was ultimately unable to prevent Canada from progressing to the semi-finals.
