30th anniversary of Olga Havlová’s death

Olga Havlová, dissident and first wife of first Czech president Václav Havel, passed away 30 years ago on January 27, 1996. A candle-lighting ceremony will be held at the Havel family tomb at Prague’s Vinohrady Cemetery.

She founded the Výbor dobré vůle  (The Committee of Good Will ) in early 1990, a foundation dedicated to helping those unable to care for themselves.

Speakers at the event will include Vojtěch Sedláček, Chair of the Foundation Board, Monika Granja, Director, and Reverend Miroslav Erdinger.
