Muchová beats Rybakina in Brisbane, sets up semifinal clash with Sabalenka

Czech tennis player Karolína Muchová has advanced to the semifinals in Brisbane after defeating Kazakhstan’s Jelena Rybakina in three sets, 6–2, 2–6, 6–4.

The 29-year-old Czech will face world number one and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the semifinals. Against Sabalenka, Muchová will be aiming to end an unfavorable run in WTA semifinals, having lost her last three at that stage. Her most recent final appearance came in September 2023 in Beijing.
