Czechs mostly optimistic about finances, but expect higher costs

Most people in the Czech Republic expect their personal financial situation to improve or remain stable next year, with the greatest optimism among those under 26, according to the results of an Ipsos survey for Home Credit. Fifty-seven percent of respondents said they expect their income to stay roughly the same, while 34 percent anticipate growth, most often by 1,000 to 3,000 crowns a month. Income gains are mainly expected from wage increases, though a fifth foresee additional income from side jobs or rentals, and 10 percent from investments.

At the same time, more than half of respondents said they expect their expenses to rise, especially people aged 27 to 35.
