Cable theft caused major train delays in Prague

Train services in Prague were disrupted on Saturday morning after cable theft on the line between Prague Vršovice and the main railway station. Trains ran on only one track, and delays lasted more than nine hours. Operations were fully restored only after 3 p.m.

The disruption affected dozens of services, including regional and long-distance trains, and some local connections were cancelled. According to rail officials, around 70 metres of signalling cable were stolen near the main station. The suspect was detained by railway staff and handed over to police.
