Czech skeleton racer Anna Fernstädtová takes second in Sigulda World Cup

Czech skeleton racer Anna Fernstädtová finished second at the Skeleton World Cup in Sigulda, securing her first podium of the Olympic season.

The 29-year-old equalled her best career result in the series, reaching the podium for the fifth time overall. She now has three second places and two thirds from individual World Cup races.

It was also her first podium finish outside Germany, which she represented until 2018. In the overall standings, Fernstädtová moved up to fifth place as she continues her build-up to February’s Olympic Games in Italy
