Cabinet to be appointed on December 15, without controversial nominee
Andrej Babiš on Tuesday delivered to President Petr Pavel his proposed list of ministers for the new ANO–SPD–Motorists government. The original nominee for the environment ministry portfolio Filip Turek is missing from the list for health reasons. Babiš has proposed that the Environment Ministry be temporarily headed by the Motorists' chair and future foreign minister Petr Macinka.
Turek’s nomination has been questioned over the fact that he allegedly posted racist, sexist, and homophobic statements on social media. President Pavel said earlier that the chances of him being appointed to any ministerial post were slim.
