Old Town Hall to unveil interactive 3D digital model of Prague’s Astronomical Clock

A new interactive 3D digital model of Prague’s Astronomical Clock will go on display at the Old Town Hall on Friday. The installation in the Knights’ Hall shows not only the famous exterior dial but also the inner mechanism normally hidden from view.

Using a touch screen, visitors can rotate the model, zoom in and examine individual parts, including the astrolabe and the driving chronometer. The digital reconstruction took two years and involved scanning more than a thousand components of the medieval clock.

The exhibit is open to visitors with a ticket to the tower or the town hall interiors.
