Monínec opens ski season record-early, 500 skiers arrive

On the first skiing day of the season this evening, about 500 skiers arrived at the slope at Monínec near Sedlec-Prčice in the Příbram region on Saturday. Thanks to technology that allows snow production even at higher temperatures, the ski resort opened the winter season on its entire 1,200-metre main slope as the first in the country. It is the earliest start to the winter season in Czech history, earning the resort a new record and an entry in the Czech Book of Records. This was stated to ČTK by the resort’s director, Jaroslav Krejčí.
