President Pavel and hockey legend Patrik Eliáš attend exhibition game for veterans

President Petr Pavel and hockey legend Patrik Eliáš attended the first exhibition hockey game for veterans at the weekend.

The match between the Old Boys Dukla Jihlava team and the 43rd Paratrooper Regiment from Chrudim will benefit among others, Warrant Officer Zdeněk Křivan, a paratrooper and military veteran who has served in the Czech Army for more than thirty years.

The event took inspiration from abroad — specifically from the Military Appreciation Games in North America, where NHL players take to the ice alongside military teams, with proceeds going to support war veterans.
