Czech mountains get heavy snowfall

The Šumava, Krkonoše, and Jeseníky mountains have reported heavy snow over the past 24 hours, which is unusual for the end of October, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) said on X.

Šumava’s Velký Javor ski resort had 48 centimeters of snow on Tuesday morning, while the Labská bouda station in the Krkonoše Mountains reported 42 centimeters. According to meteorologists so much snowfall in October hasn’t been recorded in 16 years. However, the fresh blanket of snow is expected to melt with the arrival of warmer weather in the second half of the week.
